In the beginning there were bikes

So it seems that this little exercise has led a couple of us folk to reconsider our mounts and seek out more appropriate technology. Myself, I have decided that a carbon race bike is the right direction, an Italian direction at that. Wilier Izoard XP, see below:

Hopefully this will make me more comfortable and more fast ;-). I guess that means I get to retire the old Lemond Poprad for the summer at least.. however, I think the winter months will still call for a steel frame and sturdy build.

Mr. Applequist, well, he's chosen a slightly different tack, taking the same route I chose a few years ago by choosing a Cyclocross bike. The Felt F75X should keep him happy and fast. 

The real question is, who's next?
